Hard Water Descaling Service

A descale is for chalky glasses, a furred heating element, or a salt light that has been ignored. We dissolve the scale on the element and the arms, then set the salt. Send the form or WhatsApp and the price is agreed before the visit.

A hard-water deep clean is usually the upper half of £79 to £129. Heavy scale on the element can go beyond £129. That is written down before the visit, from what you tell us and what we see. Chalk-country supplies (much of London, Kent, Essex and the Thames valley) need this more often than soft-water areas.

What this visit does not include

  • We descale. We do not fit a new heating element if the old one has failed.
  • We do not plumb in a water softener.

Before we arrive

Tell us if the salt has been empty, and the make of the machine. Empty the racks.

After the visit

Keep salt topped up and rinse aid in the dispenser. Without salt, scale returns on the element within a few months in a hard area.

DIY or a visit

A supermarket descaler or a hot citric wash helps a light film. It will not shift a heating element that is already caked. That needs the element and the arms treated by hand.

How long it lasts

In a hard-water postcode, plan a descale every three to four months if the machine runs daily. Soft-water areas can stretch toward six months unless the salt has been neglected.
