Door Seal & Gasket Mould Removal

"I had never thought about cleaning my dishwasher until my dishes started coming out with a white film on them. DishwasherCleaning.com sent a technician within two days. The filter alone was absolutely disgusting — completely clogged with grease and food debris. After the service, my dishwasher runs quieter and my dishes are spotless. Highly recommend."

"The mould around my door seal was bad. I had tried cleaning it myself with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda but it kept coming back. Their technician used a professional-grade treatment and explained why DIY solutions only scratch the surface. It has been three months and no mould has returned."

"Quick booking, showed up exactly on time, explained every step and my dishwasher smells like new. Best appliance service I have ever hired."

— Linda K., Verified Customer · 5-Star Review

"I signed up for the quarterly maintenance plan after my first cleaning. It is completely worth it. My dishwasher has been running perfectly for over a year now. Saves me money on water and energy too."

Door Seal & Gasket Mould Removal

Gasket mould removal is for a door fold with black spots, a seal that smells when you open it, or a bleach wipe that has already failed. We treat the rubber. We do not cut the gasket out or fit a new one. Send the form or WhatsApp for a price first.

  • Black or pink spots in the folds of the door seal
  • A damp, musty smell as soon as the door opens
  • Slime that comes back a week after a wipe
  • Mould spotting on the edge of the tub next to the seal
Door Seal & Gasket Mould Removal

Seal treatment is included in the £79 to £129 deep clean. A seal that is black the whole way round, or mould that has spread onto the tub, takes more time and is priced at the top of that band or just above it, in writing, before we start.

Included

  • Full length of the gasket, including the bottom corners where water sits
  • Food-safe antimicrobial treatment, not bleach left on the rubber
  • The tub edge beside the seal wiped
  • Advice on leaving the door ajar so the fold dries
  • A note if the rubber is perished and a wipe will not hold

What this visit does not include

  • We remove mould from the seal. Replacing a split or flattened gasket is a parts job.
  • Bleach is not used. It stains stainless steel and does not stay in the fold.
  • This visit does not treat bathroom mould or a washing-machine door boot.

How the visit runs

1
Open

Door fully open so every fold of the gasket is reachable.

2
Lift

Debris and biofilm lifted out of the groove before any chemical goes on.

3
Treat

Antimicrobial worked into the rubber and the lower corners.

4
Dry

Seal left clean enough that the next cycle is not sitting on wet mould.

Before we arrive

Nothing chemical on the seal beforehand. Bleach residue fights the treatment.

After the visit

Leave the door ajar between washes. Wipe the bottom fold with a dry cloth once a week. Standing water in that groove is what brings the mould back.

DIY or a visit

Vinegar and bicarbonate lift surface spots and the mould returns, because the growth is in the fold, not on the face you can see. Bleach damages the rubber and the steel.

How long it lasts

A treated seal in a kitchen that is allowed to dry usually stays clear for months. Machines shut tight all day in a steamy kitchen grow mould back sooner, which is when a quarterly plan makes sense.

Questions about this clean

The bottom corners hold water. A wipe dries the surface and leaves the growth in the fold. The door also needs to stand open so the rubber dries.

No. We clean and treat it. If the rubber is split or no longer seals, you need a manufacturer gasket. We will say so on the day.

Yes. It is for food-contact appliances. We do not leave bleach on the seal.

Heat does not reach inside the fold. The seal has to be treated by hand.
